Still Thuggin'
So the family went out for my birthday celebration tonight. My actual birthday is on Tuesday, but there's this international law that all birthdays must be celebrated on the Saturday prior to the actual day. And as is customary for our crew (eleven total), we all went out to eat, then ended the night with a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake. Though the icing recipe has changed over the years, and not for the better, it's still one of my favorite foods on the planet. This time it was cookies 'n' cream ice cream with chocolate cake and white icing. And, as is customary, we had the teenager behind the counter write a completely inappropriate message on the cake (no, it wasn't vulgar, just inappropriate.) Like last year - our phrase of choice was "Still Thuggin'." And this year we went out on a limb and had them write "Hapy anerversery," spelled just like that. The year before last was even funnier, but it's slipped my mind - Lydia, can you remember our past cake phrases? Drop a comment for me, sista.
While we ate our cake we sat around telling family pet stories, like the time our grandfather's pitbull named Skidrow took a runny shit and turned around and licked it up... Then there was the schnauzer Maggie, whose named quickly became "Maggot", who lived in the trash pile behind my grandparent's house. And Possum, the Blue Heeler that slept with a bucket on his head. Ah, there are WAY too many funny family stories to go into here. If yer lucky, I might share some of them a few at a time.
I really wanted to play Putt Putt golf, but none of the courses are open this time of year. It's alright, though - I had a pretty darn good day. Yay!
